John Rich Horton Sr,. was born on November 3, 1964 in Ashland ( Clay County), Alabama to the parentage of the late Johnny Horton and  Margaret Caldwell.

John received his education in the Clay County School system, and was a Baptist by faith.

He was the life of the party, and could often be seen dancing regardless if there was music or not. John was a family man, and loved his family with all his heart. John was a very hard worker, and worked hard to provide for his family until he was no longer able to continue working.

John is preceded in death by his parents: Johnny Horton and Margaret Caldwell

On Monday July 28, 2025 while under the care of Wellstar Kenneston Hospital in Marietta, Georgia, John quietly slipped away and into the arms of Jesus, after 60 years of life John has reunited with his parents in Heaven.

John leaves behind a loving family to cherish his memories: Children; John R. Horton Jr., and Tiffany Horton both of Atlanta, GA. Terrell Horton, and Cornelius Horton both of Douglasville, GA. Sisters; Sandra Caldwell of Ashland, AL; and Shirley Reed- Sylva of Villa Rica, GA. Grandchildren: Johnrico Horton, Johnquez Horton, Johnniyah Horton, Jermani Horton, Triston Horton all of Atlanta, GA. One Great Grandchild; Wynter Horton of Atlanta, GA. Niece: Monica Caldwell of Carrollton, GA; and Nephew: Ricky Caldwell of Carrollton, GA. Finally a host of Aunts, Uncles, other relatives and friends.
