Ed (Francis Edward) Salrin
November 11, 1937 – January 5, 2026
Ed Salrin was born November 11, 1937 in Peoria, Illinois to Joseph and Edna Salrin. Due to Ed's asthma, the family moved to Arizona when he and his sister, Betty, were very young. Eddy's family owned and operated Joe's Market in Sunnyslope and the family enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping, ultimately building a log cabin escape in the cool White Mountains of Greer, AZ. Ed graduated from Saint Mary's HS and attended Arizona State where he studied medicine. Although he did not finish college he stayed in the medical field working in pharmaceutical sales. Over the course of his life he also lived in California, Texas and finally Alabama and held a second career working in security for the state of Texas. Ed enjoyed the outdoors (hunting, fishing & camping), traveling, and cooking & eating delicious food. Although Ed married a few times, he never had children of his own, but was very close with his nieces Bonnie and Lisa. Ed moved in with Bonnie and her husband Mike and their 3 sons, Joey, Daniel and William, and has lived with them for the past 13 years filling the role of grandfather for his nephews. Ed passed peacefully on Jan 5th after a brief stay in the hospital. Ed is survived by his sister, Betty (Dreste), nieces Bonnie York (Mike) & Lisa Barnhart (Chris), great nephews Joey, Daniel & William York and Mason Barnhart, and niece Katie Barnhart.
