Fannie Cook Poole was born on April 10, 1952, in Franklin (Heard County), Georgia, to the late Mr. Frank Cook and Mrs. Henrietta Cook. She was a devoted member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in Franklin, Georgia, under the leadership of Rev. Henry L. Smokes Sr.

In her leisure time, Fannie enjoyed watching "General Hospital" and WWE (World Wide Entertainment) Wrestling, as well as Western Movies and Family Feud. However, her greatest joy was spending time with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and the Cook/Cheeks family during their annual reunions.

Fannie was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Henrietta Cook; her son, Derick Poole; siblings Patsy Ann Cook, Marsha Cook, Henry Cheeks, Gladys Cook, Virgil Cheeks, and Artis Cheeks; her grandson Dwight Poole; and her sister-in-law Catherine Feabry. On Wednesday evening, July 29, 2026, Mrs. Fannie Poole peacefully passed away at her residence in Roanoke, Alabama.

Fannie is survived by her spouse, Mr. Willie Phifer; her children, Willie Poole, Tawana Poole, Jonathan Poole, Tawana Pickard, and Demetria Poole; her sisters, Marynell Cook and Lorean Cheeks; her brothers, Otis Cheeks, Marvin Cook, Amos Cook (Burt), and J.D. Cook; 17 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; her aunts, Rachel Cheeks and Martha Cook; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends.
